Step into the World of Sword Art Online with These Sneakers!

Three high-top sneaker models based on the outfits of Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon will be available for pre-order to fans around the world on September 26, 2017.

Tokyo Otaku Mode Inc. (incorporated in Delaware, U.S.; representative: Tomohide Kamei; CEO: Naomitsu Kodaka; herein referred to as TOM) announces the release of the fourth part of its collaborative merchandise project with the popular anime series Sword Art Online.

This part of the project offers high-top sneakers that feature motifs from the outfits of the most popular characters. The sneakers will be available for pre-orders to fans around the world from 9:00 am on September 26, 2017 (JST).

Part IV of Tokyo Otaku Mode’s Exclusive Sword Art Online Merchandise Collection features three stylish high-top sneakers inspired by the outfits of Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon!
The models are laced with motifs unique to each character and suitable for all ages and genders. They are lightweight, easy to wear, and perfect for making a statement! Pair them with tapered jeans, sweatpants, your favorite SAO cosplay, or anything else you feel like wearing!

SAO Canvas High-Top: Kirito-Hi [The Black Knight]

Inspired by The Black Knight’s outfit shown in the Aincrad Arc, the Kirito-Hi model features a black canvas base that is decorated with the motifs on his right chest and shoulder. Sleek black enamel “plates” similar to what Kirito uses have been applied to the tongue for extra impact. Different designs have been printed on each foot to recreate Kirito’s signature Dual Blade style; the right features the Elucidator, while the left holds the Dark Repulser.

With Kirito’s silhouette and one of his most memorable lines printed on the insole, the Kirito-Hi offers users with a chance to step into the world of Sword Art Online every day.

SAO Canvas High-Top: Asuna-Hi [The Flash]

The Asuna-Hi model is based on Asuna’s Knights of the Blood guild outfit in the Aincrad Arc. In addition to the red crosses that have become her trademark, gray plates holding additional crosses on the tongue also add the this model’s visual appeal. The vivid red and gold colors on the white canvas are sure to look great with a wide variety of outfits for both men and women.

Of course, the Asuna-Hi model also features Asuna’s silhouette and one of her most memorable lines. Start your day off right by seeing Asuna before you step out!

SAO Canvas High-Top: Sinon-Hi [Goddess of Death]

The Sinon-Hi shows off a rare and incredibly eye-catching canvas color that is based on Sinon’s outfit in Gun Gale Online. The color of her hair is also included as a highlight on the outer sole and serves as special detail for all Sinon fans to enjoy! White enamel lines have been included to recreate the image of her sleeves, and the icon from her scarf can be found on the tongue.

Like Kirito and Asuna’s models, the Sinon-Hi also includes a print of Sinon’s silhouette and one of her memorable lines on the insoles. No matter how long you might take in the morning, Sinon will be there waiting, armed and ready to take on the world with you.

About the Sword Art Online × Tokyo Otaku Mode Collaborative Merchandise Project

To date, TOM has shared information and distributed merchandise related to the Sword Art Online series that continues to be popular around the world. TOM has also served as the official international media partner for Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale, which premiered in Japan in February 2017 and has recorded a total of 3.35 billion yen worldwide in box office earnings.

During its activities related to the Sword Art Online series, TOM has received a significant amount of feedback from fans overseas who expressed their interest in experiencing the series through different formats and methods. This Sword Art Online × Tokyo Otaku Mode Collaborative Merchandise Project was launched in response to such feedback.

The concept of this project is to create merchandise for everyday use that a wide range of fans can enjoy. Merchandise created through this project will differ from existing character goods that are based on illustrations of each character. To increase and ensure fan satisfaction, merchandise design drafts are revealed to fans during the planning phases of the project, and adjustments are made based on fan feedback. The completed merchandise are available in Japan and also around the world.

In the previous parts of the Collaborative Merchandise Project, Scarves and beanies based on the outfits of Kirito and Asuna were released in part one, Sword Art Online Weapon-Based Computer Glasses were released in part two, and Sword Art Online 5108 (Kotoba) Necklaces designed in the image of the characters’ weapons were released in part three. Although pre-orders are now closed for the merchandise from parts one and three, the Weapon-Based Computer Glasses from part two are still available.

About Sword Art Online

The Sword Art Online anime series is based on the original light novel series by Reki Kawahara, Grand Prize winner of the 15th Dengeki Novel Prize. The series illustrates the activities of Kirito, the protagonist, in a futuristic virtual reality game titled “Sword Art Online”. The Sword Art Online series has been incredibly popular ever since volume one of the original light novel was released in April 2009. Approximately thirteen million copies of the light novels have been sold in Japan, and approximately twenty million copies have been sold worldwide. The Sword Art Online series has received two anime adaptations and has also been presented through different media formats such as games and comic books.
