Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon's Weapons Presented as Brilliant Gold Necklaces!

Part three of the Sword Art Online × Tokyo Otaku Mode collaborative merchandise project features exclusive necklaces that will be available to fans around the world.

Tokyo Otaku Mode Inc. (incorporated in Delaware, U.S.; representative: Tomohide Kamei; CEO: Naomitsu Kodaka; herein referred to as TOM) announces the release of its third collaborative merchandise project with the popular anime series Sword Art Online. This release features necklaces that are styled after the powerful weapons wielded by some of the most popular characters in the series. Pre-orders for the necklaces begins on July 27 at 09:00 (JST) for fans in Japan and around the world.

Sword Art Online × Tokyo Otaku Mode Part III: Sword Art Online 5108 (Kotoba) Necklaces

The Sword Art Online 5108 (Kotoba) Necklaces are manufactured by 5108, an original accessory brand that has produced other anime accessory collaborations. There is a Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon  model available. Each model is based on the character’s preferred weapon, and features their name in English. The elegant designs are sure to appeal not only to fans, but also to a wider demographic.
Each necklace comes with a postcard-size display card that contains dialogue (printed in both English and Japanese) and a screenshot from a memorable scene. Fans can wear their necklaces or keep them for display.

About the Sword Art Online × Tokyo Otaku Mode Collaborative Merchandise Project

To date, TOM has shared information and distributed merchandise related to the Sword Art Online series that continues to be popular around the world. TOM has also served as the official international media partner for Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale, which premiered in Japan in February 2017 and has recorded a total of 3.35 billion yen worldwide in box office earnings.
During its activities related to the Sword Art Online series, TOM has received a significant amount of feedback from fans overseas who expressed their interest in experiencing the series through different formats and methods. This Sword Art Online × Tokyo Otaku Mode Collaborative Merchandise Project was launched in response to such feedback.
The concept of this project is to create merchandise for everyday use that a wide range of fans can enjoy. Merchandise created through this project will differ from existing character goods that are based on illustrations of each character. To increase and ensure fan satisfaction, merchandise design drafts are revealed to fans during the planning phases of the project, and adjustments are made based on fan feedback. The completed merchandise are available in Japan and also around the world.
Scarves and beanies based on the outfits of Kirito and Asuna - as featured in the first part of the SAO x TOM collaborative merchandise project - were made available for reservations on June 16, 2017, and are still open for reservations.
Weapon-based Computer Glasses based on the preferred weapons of popular characters from the second part of the project are also available for reservations. The glasses were first made available for reservations on June 27, 2017.

The Sword Art Online anime series is based on Based on the original light novel series by Reki Kawahara, Grand Prize winner of the 15th Dengeki Novel Prize. The series illustrates the activities of Kirito, the protagonist, in a futuristic virtual reality game titled “Sword Art Online”.
